Village Tavern - Reynolda Rd - Winston-Salem

When we visited Village Tavern I always enjoy eating outside. They have a beautiful area with tables and umbrellas and trees overhead. Of course, when we visited, we sat outside and enjoyed the bistro experience.

This is my all time favorite food to eat here. The Spinach Salad is fresh baby spinach, sliced apples, dried cranberries, tomatoes, boiled egg and candied pecans. I ordered mine with grilled chicken. I can't forget to mention the to die for Poppy Seed dressing. I need to ask them how to make theirs. They sell it by the bottle but I want to make my own. I have tried many recipes and none of them compare.

Pimento Cheese Dip with fresh Tortilla Chips. You must have this appetizer when you go. I heard recently from a person who lived up north that Pimento Cheese is an acquired taste. I guess being raised in the south I acquired a taste for Pimento Cheese a long time ago. How about you? This dip is ooey gooey luscious deliciousness. It is served warmed so the cheese just melts and becomes so velvety but it does not lose the flavor of the Pimento Cheese.

This photo is of the She Crap soup. Noah and I ordered a bowl to try it. I did not prefer it. On the other hand, Noah loved it. He was telling me all about it. This is his description of the soup: "It has the perfect amount of lump crab to not lose the creaminess. The paprika they top it with adds to the flavor of the soup in a good way." He ate every bit of it and wanted another bowl. I told him he could not have one due to the pizza he ordered.

Overall the Village Tavern is one of my favorite places to eat. The atmosphere is magnificent. I must remember the host and servers. I give them a shout out for the tremendous job they do. They are also considerate and happy to help in any way. They will also recommend different dishes for you to try.
